The goats have given birth. Aren't they cute? The supply of goat milk for this season has begun. I picked up the first six gallon this week. I can't wait to make some goat cheese.

they are very cute, i want some. Charlie kinda looks like them.
Of course they look cute, would there be one person on the whole world who would find them ugly ?
There are many animals known as cattle (cows, goatsm sheep and even camels) that are milked ny humans to drink the milk while all these animals produce milk for their young. This has been done for many milleniums but I wonder what the young animals get tot drink instead.
The question in my previous comment was meant sincerly (I really don't know the answer) and was thus not meant rhetorically or so.
Hi. I just found your blog linked off of the Cheese Forum. You are my cheese hero! Anyway, to answer Anton's question (even though it is old), most animals bred for dairy production produce enough milk to feed their babies with extra for their human owners. I have two Jersey family cows. They average 3-4 gallons over a lactation. The calf only needs 1-2 each day. So plenty for all!
